How much does it cost?
List price is $1595.00 plus shipping by common carrier. Shipping costs are generally between $85.00 to $125.00.
Do I have to trade in my stock hood?
No! You keep your stock hood. Removal and installation of the C5 hood is not difficult for two people. Because you keep your stock hood, you and your buddy can replace it on your car at any time. We recommend that you keep your stock hood in tack, inclusive of the under hood lining and lamp.
Are these hoods made from a GM hood?
No! These hoods are not reconstructed by bonding a hood scoop onto a GM hood. These are new hoods constructed from carbon fiber and carbon fiber reinforced fiberglass. We manufacture both the inner and outer hood panels, and the inner panel is contoured to perfectly match the underside of the outer panel.
Do I have to modify my car to make it fit?
No! An excellent fit is achieved by using just the original factory mounting hardware. The factory hardware provides ample adjustability, and is easily accessible. Very little adjustment, if at all, is necessary.
How long does it take to install?
If you can round up two people beside yourself, you can remove the stock hood and all the mounting hardware in about 30min. You can install the hardware, mount and adjust the new Motorcity hood in about 45min.
Is the hood design functional?
Absolutely! Besides the weight saving of over 10lbs, and the aesthetically pleasing and aggressive looks, the hood has proven to perform in the 1/4 mile.
